I’ve been travelling camera-less for decades. I have been capturing – with my brain – smells, feelings, relationships, textiles, and sounds. As a child, I watched a sunset. It was so warm and bright and majestic. I had faith in it. It told me everything I need to know about the world.
I took a picture of it with a disposable camera. When I picked up the orange envelope of 4×6 prints two weeks later, I picked out the picture of that sunset and it told me nothing. It was dull. It carried no purpose, place, or feeling.
Drones are dumb. This blog is dumb. Lighting is even dumber. The universe lights the earth for us and we act like that’s not enough! Come on!
